Your call will be answered Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., and Saturday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. If you call outside those hours, please leave your name and number. Your call will promptly be returned during business hours.
What to expect during your FREE foreclosure prevention counseling session—A typical first counseling session involves a nonjudgmental conversation about your situation, a review of your household income and spending plan, an explanation of the options available to you, and plenty of time to ask any questions you may have. Your counselor will help you develop a plan of action, which may include communicating with your lender, gathering information necessary for assistance programs, reducing discretionary expenses, accessing other community resources for help, asking your lender for additional time to reach an agreement, and/or other actions, as needed.

You’re in a good state. North Carolina has made special protections and resources available to homeowners in distress—but it’s up to you to make the call.
